Flavored Fruit Teas (and a GIVEAWAY from Salada!)

Just recently, I came back from a trip to an area where when I asked for a glass of sweet tea - and instead, I was given a glass of cold un-sweet tea with a pack of sweet n low.

Ew.

I looked at the server like he had just lost his mind.  I politely told him I asked for sweet tea, and he told me that's what he brought me.

Um, no.  You brought me cold glass of un-sweet tea and a packet of sweet & low.  I think I was in shock, quite honestly.

So, when I got home - the very first thing that I wanted was a glass of sweet tea!!  I could very easily live on sweet tea.  So, when I was given the opportunity to try Salada's fruit infused teas, I was super excited! Obviously, I add sugar to mine. But you totally don't have to because the fruit sweetens it up quite a bit.  I'm just a really sweet person, so I need the sugar to keep me that way. -grin-

'Southern Sipper' - you can get one here

I have tried the raspberry, peach-nectarine, & the tropical - and I love them all, but I've got to say the tropical is my absolute favorite - which surprised me being that I'm usually more of a raspberry gal.  But they were all super fantastic, and incredibly fruity tasting.  You know how you get some things that are supposed to be flavored with something, and you taste it - and you're all 'ok, this doesn't taste at all like that!'  Totally not the case here.  Packs the flavor punch, that's for sure!

Cleaning the Grill & A Giveaway!

It's summer time, and the grilling season is in full gear.  I know we have been grilling out half our meals lately to avoid heating up the kitchen.  So, when I was contacted by CLR about trying their Grease Magnet for my grill, I was super stoked.  I love CLR products as it is, and this is one I hadn't yet tried yet.  My grill gets lots of use, and on top of that - it's old. So, a cleaning was past due.

The Grease Magnet by CLR  is simple to use.  Just spray it on, let it sit a few minutes, and clean it off with your grill brush.  No scrubbing or scraping required - all the ickies just slide right off.  You can see my grill grate in our old grill below.  It cleaned it right up.

The grill is just one of the many things you can clean with it. Try it on a variety of other things too.

  • CLR Grease Magnet features an eco-safe, garage strength formula.
  • Effective for cement, concrete, asphalt, terrazzo, granite, garage, & factory floors
  • Degreases motors, machinery, BBQ grills, & other surfaces with grime, grease, & oil
  • Industrial strength, fast-acting formula is biodegradable & will not hard grass or shrubs.

Here's your chance to win a bottle of Grease Magnet to try out in your own home!  For entry in this giveaway, you must leave a comment on this post. You can earn additional entries by liking Mrs Happy Homemaker on facebook and liking CLR on facebook - among other things.  Leave 1 comment for each thing that you did, which will be verified if you are chosen as the winner.

The winner will be chosen via Random.org.  Giveaway ends Friday, June 22nd at 12:01am.  Winner will be announced on this blog post, & on facebook.

The contest is over & a winner has been selected using Random.org.  Congratulations to Mary Cochrane!  Please email me at MrsHappyHomemaker@yahoo.com with your shipping address to claim your prize!

Food Finds for June - Ring of Fire Hot Sauce & a *GIVEAWAY*

My first experience with June's featured food find was several years ago.  My husband and I were laying in bed watching Food Network, and the television show Food Finds was on (you can watch the clip here).  They were featuring Mike & Diane's Kitchen & their high quality hot sauce, Ring of Fire. My husband is sort of a hot sauce connoisseur, and he was instantly drawn to it. We placed an order almost immediately, and it was an instant addiction.  I'm not even that much of a hot sauce person, but this stuff is something special. I simply can't be without it. The texture is actually more similar to a salsa than a typical hot sauce too.  Perfect salsa, and perfect hot sauce - all wrapped up in one.

And yes, it's hot.  But the flavors are so fresh & flavorful that it's hard to stop eating it.  I often just pour a small dipping bowl of it & go to town with some tortilla chips. Plus, there are other flavors offered that aren't as hot as others. Original is my personal favorite.

Oh, and if you're a jerky fan - their jerky is the best!!

Click here to go to their online store.

Ring of Fire is ran by a husband and wife duo out of southern California - Mike and Diane.  I have had the pleasure of speaking to Mike on several occasions, and gushed over how much I love their sauces.  So, when I decided that I wanted to share my love for this product as this month's featured food find, I sent Mike a message to let him know - and asked if he might want to host a giveaway with me.  Not only did he say yes, but he has offered up a yummy 2-pack of Ring of Fire sauces for grabs to the lucky winner!

To enter, you must leave a comment and there are several options for additional entries such as liking Mrs Happy Homemaker on facebook and joining the Ring of Fire facebook group.  You can view the full list on the Rafflecopter widget below. The contest is limited to the continental 48 US States.

The giveaway is now over & the winner is Kris K.  Congratulations!!!
